On March 28, 2022, as the encounter begins, in solidarity with the Indigenous Fire Keepers keeping the Sacred Fire in your region and across this land, we invite all of you to light a fire or a candle and to pray. This will be a pivotal moment in the history of the Catholic Church in Canada as Pope Francis hears directly from Indigenous Peoples in extensive personal encounters with each group – First Nations, Metis, and Inuit – and in an historic final audience with all delegates together.
#Sacred fire ministries series
Pope Francis will welcome three distinct groups of Indigenous peoples to the Vatican during a series of unprecedented meetings March 28-April 1. The Holy Father himself wishes to walk with us all. The Archdiocese of Edmonton specifically committed to $3M toward that goal. The summer and fall of 2021 witnessed a formal apology by all Catholic bishops in Canada followed by a $30M National Financial Pledge to support healing and reconciliation initiatives. We, as members of the Catholic Church and citizens of our nation, continue to walk the long road towards national healing and reconciliation, with Indigenous Peoples showing us the way. We cannot erase history, but we can look forward to – and help create – a better future. Keep watch in the coming years for the next move of God in this organization.Over the past months, our country has become keenly aware of the hardship and trauma endured by many Indigenous Peoples in this land, much of it stemming from the legacy of residential schools. Farrow Institute for Black Preaching and Education is preparing women and men for the ministries in which God has called us. In our sacred community, our visiting professors and Circle⭕️ scholars go deeper in their understanding of black preaching, interpretation, and exegesis, womanism, transformational leadership, and more! In the Fall of 2021, we welcomed the #Brotherhood into our #community, with the Just for The Men⭕️ and our beloved undergrads in the AOPMorehouse⭕️. PhoeniX⭕️ which gathered women and men to re-imagine their preaching, ministry, and leadership gifts so they could ready themselves to soar to the next level. In 2021, Circle Nation expanded and inaugurated two NEW circles⭕️. Farrow Institute for Black Preaching and Education. Farrow has created under her non-profit, The Kelly U.
Circle of SacredFire⭕️ is the first of many educational programs Dr. The “Alpha Circle” gathered a diverse population of 20 women to focus on #theCircle⭕️’s three fundamental principles: Preaching through the Black Church Context, Preaching with a Womanist Ethic, and Preacher as Person leadership development. Farrow created and inaugurated Circle of SacredFire⭕️, a preaching intensive designed to prepare women of color in ministry in black preaching, womanism, and leadership development.
